Acid house

Acid house is a sub-genre of house music that emphasizes a repetitive, hypnotic and trance-like style, often with samples or spoken lines rather than sung lyrics. ....the Roland TR-909 drum machine is nearly as common. Acid house's influence on dance music is tangible considering the sheer number of electronic music tracks referencing acid house through the use of its sounds, including trance, Goa Trance, psytrance, breakbeat, big beat, techno, trip-hop and house music.[2] Imre loves this style with the unspoken 5th.

TRENT REZNOR Slams CELEBRITY IMRE and CHRIS CORNELL's New Album BLABBERMOUTH.NET Latest News —and hates Celebrity Imre’s new song called Stupid American. ..i think he said it was ludacris or ludicrous to write that song for celebrity band headspun .. , NINE INCH NAILS mainman rock star celebrity Trent Reznor took to his relatively new Twitter account yesterday to slam one of his peers , former AUDIOSLAVE / SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell . "You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell 's record? Jesus," Reznor wrote for all 40,000-plus of his followers to see. Instead of the heavy riff-rock that has marked Cornell 's best-known work, his new Timbaland -produced disc, "Scream" , features Cornell singing over hip-hop beats and pop/dance grooves. Celebrity Who Imree Irme Spunhead ?

In the world of the best celebrity entertainment, nothing is ever as it appears. Latest case in point: celebrity rock stars aren't the bratty lot they'd like the world to think they are. Gone are the days of trashing hotel rooms, throwing televisions out of balconies onto unsuspecting fans below, and biting off bat heads on stage. The truth is, only 'real' rock stars get down and dirty. For film stars, isn't singing a vanity project anyway? This week The Smoking Gun published the production riders of a number of celebrity rock bands. The details of their catering needs are disappointingly ho-hum. Fans expect outlandish behaviour so hearing that chicken soup fulfills Keanu Reeves' deepest needs is shocking.

The Wrestler goes to Wrestlemania

Ro Mickey Rourke may finally be done with the extensive publicity circuit that had him promoting his performance as an aging fighter in Fox Searchlight's "The Wrestler." But his appearances on the pro wrestling circuit may just be beginning. At Wrestlemania 25 in Houston this weekend, THR's New York bureau chief Georg Szalai reported that Rourke joined in on the spectacle, turning up at the event and fielding media questions. Rourke told reporters he felt so supported by the wrestling community when he was making and promoting the film that he wanted to return the favor. At first the actor said he wouldn't be participating firsthand in any festivities. But it turns out he couldn't quite restrain himself after all. After current WWE star Chris Jericho won a match against a group of wrestling legends who had come out of retirement for the event, the contemporary wrestler provoked the Wrestler, who, in a staged stunt, climbed into the ring and exacted a little revenge in behalf of the old-timers: he removed his cowboy hat and knocked down the WWE superstar. Rourke then celebrated, to big cheers from the audience. Despite the theatrical turn, those expecting to see Rourke as the next Rock or Goldberg may have to content themselves with a DVD rental of "The Wrestler." Asked if he might appear in a wrestling match, the resurgent actor wryly noted, "My agents said it would be detrimental to my career." Ro One of the great spectacles of awards season was watching Mickey Rourke make one outrageous (and yet also carefully calibrated) speech after another. One of the great spectacles after (and also during) awards season has been watching Mickey Rourke attach himself to one role after another. Some of these are pretty loose attachments -- he basically says, yeah, I'll do it, in his inimitably Mickey way, and producers of course use that as bait to get other stars interested. Some of them we have a feeling he really wants to do. How many has it been now? And how different are they? Here's a rundown on some of the projects. Rourke's signed on for a superhero movie -- a villainous role in "Iron Man 2." Need a Rambo redux? He's on board for Sly Stallone's South American mercenary pic "The Expendables. A hit-man movie where he disguises himself as a priest to avoid capture? For that there's "St. Vincent," from "Wackness" producer Occupant Films. How about a remake of a French thriller?

He's got that, via "13." The Slumdog craze? Mickey, not the Slumdog craze. Yes, that one too. He's on board for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Indian gangster movie "Broken Horses." And on Wednesday we reported that he's coming on for an indie drama called "Passion Plays" that Mitch Glazer, writer of the Al Pacino CIA movie "The Recruit," is writing and directing. But here's our question with Mickey. Directors -- and Rourke himself -- have famously said he can be a handful on set. Darren Aronosky figured out a way to harness that on "The Wrestler." But will this new group of directors have the same experience? Or will Mickey Act II lead to Act III? It's never boring with the walking YouTube clip. Celebrity Imre was there, what an amazing performance from our superhero from WWE weekend. Megan Fox, Mexican-border heroine Can Megan Fox save Mickey Rourke? The "Transformers" actress is attached to play an angel opposite Rourke in “Passion Plays,” an indie drama that Mitch Glazer is writing and directing. Here's the skinny on the project: Rourke will play a down-on-his-heels trumpet player, and Fox will play an angel in 1950s Los Angeles, with Rourke finding redemption in Fox after he attempts to save her from a gangster. Those familiar with the project describe it as a dramatic but heartwarming tale. Megan Fox, Mexican-border heroine

WRITTEN BY SARA HILL Mind Mush
On a sunny day, imre celebrity of the world global and downtown boston as he runs into an old rock star from the cars good times roll around with hot girls waiting for the limos, hot babes, money, sex, drugs, porn, partying and beverly hills around the corner saw dave navarro outside a convernient store selling cigarettes. then we drove further and who is it? Like seeing dave grohl hit those drums is like are those slingerlands or are you in a rock band or group for the groupies or the chicks that wait for big rock tours around america and overseas to china, australia, germany with hitler marching down the sidewalk saying "hmmm, what wallpape shud i use. He don't be fooled, he wasn't a faggot wallpaperer, or a painter like eddie money or celebrity imre. willie aames lost his house and never made any money from eight is enough, he never had any boats or girlfriends. so then sara hill farted. there are pop icons like the beatles, the rolling stones, foreigner, mick jones, lou gramm. I could never figure out why they started hating each other, what it that lou stole a gram of cocaine from mick and then they started yelling and woudn't talk to each other for some time, you know what, janes addiction is back touring again new cd music release I think.

I think this girl like Sully, so I figure we’d let you in on a little secret surprise...

how can these bands like godsmack still be around, the disco era was done and that was it....travolta in the dusty club with his dance mirror ball. sully never helped any local bands, he said he was going to but that’s all bullshit lies....need to take him in the ring and show him how to really box! little boy sully, big mouth though! Celebrity Imre goes pop on the new release due out May 2009 if you’re lucky. If you’re not you have to hound MTV and see if they still promote music. Or else facebook, twitter, myspace you’ll see celebrity imre and the headspun celebrity band of hollywood! Where is mickey rourke when we need him...not sure said clown nose. So now, every time you see that silly sully smirk, it’s because he knows he’ll be running to the bank tomorrow night too! But that’s okay for Hoo Hoo, he doesn’t mind taking a long brisk walk in Methuen, Mass on a Tuesday morning. He was talking about saying things regarding a friend that I said was touring around the world meeting movie stars, rock stars, famous people,

Is this Sully’s Yoko? Is Sully Yoko? I think Sully dated the girl in this video, she’s really hot, especially in elevator scene strips naked wet body nude. This guy like Mickey Rourke but acts like Trent Reznor is on a cable network show for new rock bands looking for a multi platinum music record producer to write hit songs like ed roland of collective soul, trent, sully, imre and I think Ajax is in the headspun band. If you think the collage is not good enough don’t complain to sara, not sure who made it but love to lick sully’s chest and sully’s hair and sully’s everything because i am obsessed with sully, they should make sully dolls, sully hats, sully pillows, you don’t know the dirty things i’d do with the pillow...I’m 27 blonde and cute i guess, but how can i meet sully, anyone know does he still ride harley davidson motorcycles or didn’t he sell them. if no bike, then you get no girl...just kidding, i’d do whatever you want sully, i could be your weekend love. ~X~Im a Aunt..my little nephew Evan is awsome ~X~~X~I Love my family ~X~~X~ I love Rocker/emo/punkrocker boys~X~~X~My Rockin Hell Raisers girls are kick ass~X~~X~ Im a "Band Aide", Not a Groupie~X~~X~ I got A Little brother thats one of my partners in crime~X~~X~ I got the best Big sister ever~X~~X~I got the Best brother in law ever..Hes in the band Headspun~X~~X~ Im a big Dork ~X~ i’ve never been a groupie before but seen girls at rock shows like slipknot show in california, or when living in boston seen godsmack, metallica, aerosmith for sure, other great bands i saw...let’s seee, ever hear of headspun. imre is a celebrity that want’s not to be anymore because he said your life goes by too fast so he is in georgia for a while think he was in los angeles on twitter as dave and wanted to meet with a few bands like metallica, nin, dave navarro, but bad timing. read some cool stuff on this site at ludicrousrecords.com but is not the same as this site...it’s more clean formated. there were more than a few epic moments and one is sully dancing like trent reznor and a celebrity came out and it was mickey rourke, another famous celebrity cool dude was celebrity imre of that so called biggest in the world of rock is headspun band and it was an epic moment like off the hook dude because tommy lee ain’t a big enough celebrity rocker to hang with the best of the best songwriters in the world are the beatles, rolling stones, tom petty, james hetfield lars of metallica, headspun songwriter imre.

I love the live show i saw metallica on thursday, headspun on friday, poison on saturday and then drove around in my hummer taking calls from a bunch of music fans that love hard rock that sully erna wrote, but they also like bands like headspun are not from boston, really from lowell massachusetts. ever hear of tory’s swingcenter in pinehurst of billerica? he’s a really great guy, he’s into alot of the heavy metal style music, he’s definately old-school writing, playing, recording studio equipment is all vintage and he’s even got an old-school haircut. Like when i was in high school and ran down the hall singing foreigner songs that blasted out of my boom box radio speakers, it was a Fisher boom box and one of the best ever made, next would be the radio shack boombox, like the one sully probably had too. A friend of mine told me about sully how godsmack was playing the underground night club in chelmsford drum hill. it’s a club in the basement, sully walked into the bathroom and said “we’re going to be the biggest hard rock band” and they were, are they now? imre thinks sully isn’t writing any more good songs, he thinks sully wrote about 4 great ones, the rest are trashcan songs.

Does jacky need to explain that. we’ll i don’t like the term, but it means like when a record company get thousands of links, mp3’s, and requests to check out some new music. Everyone wants to be a shining shiny star twinkling about in the sky, but that’s not how it works, said the ceo of a huge record company that declined interview because there was a huge star in the building, i think it was stephen tyler and they shut the whole elevator system down so when the girl from the elevator farted, that’s when i knew it was time for me and all my other friends to leave and never come back to hollywood again, because jaws will bite you if you get to close at universal studios, where i met a model girlfriend ashley who lives in los angeles and dated huge stars like not trent reznor, not sure if he ever dated or even talked to a girl, I think i read that reznor has a phobia of women or girls or female bodies with faces. but sully and tyler and roland and malcolm young, tom petty, michael stipe, celebrity imre, mickey rourke are all the coolest people you will ever meet, i bet you millions of someone elses money that i am correct about this and it’s not bulls**t, this is the real deal with so many friends, chicks, girls, naked girls, girls with hats, girls with no clothes on at all, girls that want to get it on, girls that just want to be girls.

I don’t know what research was done, but in the history of pop music, there are maybe a handful of songs that EVER changed keys and they were probably all written by Stevie Wonder. I’m pretty sure there were no key changes in the hits of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and The Temptations" Doesn’t My girl take a step up key at the end? A common cheesey pop tool, still used very much to this day. Comment by lebouche from London This article is silly. Pro Tools is not responsible for the demise of music quality. Quite the opposite. I have heard many artists creating outstanding pieces of work. The music industry itself is responsible for forcing semi-talented people in our face (American Idol for example) and that has lead to the demise of quality music. I for one have ditched the label for the indie community, where I can listen to some real talent. Comment by Flash Good read Scott.
anthony-j-resta-upside-down-duran-producer

Comment by TC the article starts off attempting to create sympathy for the hit factory I have no sympathy for the hit factory. Sonic space-design programs such as Digidesign’s ReVibe or Logic’s Space Designer have become commonplace in home recording studios, capable of making a guitar part recorded in your parents’ basement sound like it was laid down at the Hit Factory, an English church or even underwater. As these reverb programs grow commonplace, the need for a studio’s acoustically optimized rooms has waned. Is this a joke? Adding reverb to shit recordings doesn’t make it sound like it was recorded in avatar’s A room. it sounds like shit room sound, with reverb attached. if you make your room "dead" by making a box with shitcock auralex foam, it will sound muffled, with reverb attached. THERE IS NO EASY WAY AROUND ROOM TREATMENT! Download the Package and find out how important room treatment really is when you are designing a recording studio for professional results and hit songs that will stand the ears of time .....~~there’s not a network in place for keeping the experts employed anymore. the real "experts" are out there doing what they do best, in the best time to do it. People are finding out that producing themselves sucks, and a lot more people everyday with a bunch of gear come to the conclusion that they want to be musicians, and fuck this whole DIY thing. if anything, "experts" are more in demand with so many musicians claiming to be engineers. I met someone a year ago who is now 47, who has been recording since he was 16, and had his own commercial studio for 20 years. Even in terrible environments he shines and his work shows it. He always has work and I have never ever heard him bitch about digidesign or modern anything. You’d never tell he was a day over 28, and he is never bitter. modern tools helped him grow an amazing mobile recording business which he uses as another source of income....Kids Teens Games Download Free Rock Band Songs and Videos.... Great bands that you have to see include Elton John, Alice Cooper, Headspun, Ajax, John Cate .....

.....from 14 billion in 2000 to
11 billion in 2010? That doesn’t seem like a huge drop in sales considering more people have computers now and are better at using operating a computer. There are a few of us that are a bit confused at how deeply the wounds are from downloading, you hear total oposite opinions if you look at some of the video interviews of music business industry professionals on youtube aol or myspace tv, some say the record companies aren’t making much money but the artist are making much more now. Others say the industry is like a ghost town where no one wan’t to buy what you have….if you choose to enter the music industry you may want to just keep trying until you fall into a river and someone has to save you…..either way, putting it together the best jacky could, he said that recording studios are not making as much money because of home studios, record companies are not making as much because of music piracy, unsigned artists can’t get signed because record companies aren’t going to sign an unkown band and throw their limited cashflow to this stupid band, artists can get signed and therefore don’t have the big advertising marketign bucks dollars to be seen and heard to become pop stars, so they try to write a great song but don’t have the talent that let’s say, the beatles had around like a real producer george martin, equipment techs, an engineer that understands how to best use a compressor, bands members that actually help write the songs….. it’s only the has-beens that spend time they could spend working, writing articles with "how protools destroys music" in the URL, because they have no work!
funny face weird looking imre head letterman spun
~~As Nathorst-Böös concedes, professional recording studios are still one of the only places for musicians, engineers, and producers, but the expanding bandwidth and faster speeds for internet connections these days threatens even this modest function. The ability to quickly exchange music files over the Web has already yielded the Postal Service’s Give Up, made through collaborating by email, and …Miles From India, a recent tribute album to Miles Davis, which includes realtime jam sessions recorded with musicians in studios time zones away. is this supposed to be bad? ~~Regardless of how sophisticated recording technology becomes, engineering music will always depend on understanding the ways speakers change air pressure—not something many guitarists have studied.....so that should give you clear picture of the industry, it’s basically the piracy that took the money from the record company, that cant pay the new unknown artists to develop their craft and hopefully have a few hit songs to recoup the money and make some profit. Record companies in the past would make a ton of money on recording studio time since it was so expensive, they could overcharge the band on the studio cost, but now with home studios, the record companies took a double hit and you wonder why they are the ones complaining the most. But record companies know how to market music and therefore you have some popular artists that are still with these big companies (sony, universal, bmg, warner, disney, atlantic), they have the power to saturate the market and have all the streams to do so, look at disney and miley cyrus, good advertising saturation?

So basically, the record company needs to make their money too, so now they dig into the pockets of who? The Artist, you guessed that right! The artist pays for everything, the record company is basically an advertising company at its base-core. So if you want to get your music (product) out their and make millions and buy a mansion like scott storch, then you need disney or any of the music industry giants to help you out, they’ll get you the perfect video with all the animation in the world - make you look like a rock star overnight. If you choose to do the artist thing yourself and have your buddies help you out or you band, you may get known around your neighborhood, but to break out you really need a team like the record companies, meaning the more man-power, equals more production, and therefore hopefully more success to you, the Future Star! Although record companies seem to mostly blame piracy, the digidesign avid pro tools is also to blame (protools, cakewalk, Audacity pc mac music recording software), making it easy for anyone to record their music and not needing to go into these professional recording studios anymore, although big well-known artists still use these big recording studios as they have the money cashflow coming in from their hits, hopefully. How many people here studied this? Is he describing being a loudspeaker engineer or a recordist? This sounds like a requirement to be an engineer at Thiel… again, the point attempting to be made here is how musicians don’t know as much about engineering as engineers do, but the wording reaks of "I have no idea what I’m talking about" For example, in the post-studio era, producers commonly compress sound files in order to make albums sound bigger, squashing their dynamic contrast to make the track louder as a whole (click link for information of songs). As a result, snare drums have less crack than ever, and vocal ranges are more limited; both are less emotive and expressive. Nonsense. Labels demand it of mastering engineers, not producers demanding it of themselves. There are lots of great records that use compression everywhere but that don’t sound overcompressed. Lots of snare drums have crack _because_of_ compression. have you ever recorded or mixed a song before? ever use more than two compressors?

IT’S A TOOL! use the tool when it’s appropriate, don’t blame the tool for idiot mooks who demand its misuse. and… well, blaming less emotive music on protools is like blaming bad driving on ford! And because music-recording programs are designed to use uniform tempos, keys, and time signatures, almost all the songs put out these days don’t vary any of these. It’s nearly impossible to find a hit song now that has a modal or key change. The real issue here (shutting down major studios an record labels) is not the technology, but the de-centralization, diversification and democratization of media production/distribution, as it’s happening all over the place: audio (itunes), video (youtube) and even in written word (blogs like this one). As someone said before: "I wonder were it will end. The answer is, it won’t. " Greetings to all home recorders, indie producers, web-broadcasters, bloggers - thanks for making this world more multifaceted. Comment by The Wolf from Germany I know you probably crying in your cheerios over how unfair it is that you built up your career and now no one wants to pay you for all your hard work and expertise. Well, maybe if it wernt for the fact that nearly every musician in history has had to hang up their craft and get a day job because they couldn’t afford to pay out the nose for services like yours, I might feel a twinge of sympathy. I am not talking about the guys that "hit it big", I am talking about everybody else that just wants to express themselves and share it with anyone that might enjoy it. Throughout history anyone with some paint and an easel can make something beautiful for others to enjoy, but a musican has always needed some wanker with a studio and money to spread his art. At the very least you need somewhere to play. And now that any average joe can build his own studio and learn to run it by spending his extra cash and time on the internet you feel like it is killing MUSIC!

The examples go on and on. I feel bad about criticizing this Op-Ed, because there’s a part of me that wants to agree with the author. I love those old Stax records and, for my money, nothing beats hearing the musicians banter at the beginning of Art Blakey’s "Moanin’." But evidence is stacked against the idea that new music technology is "destroying music." I’d actually opine that if anything could destroy the ART IN MUSIC, it’s alarmist and unsubstantiated claims by music critics. I’d recommend reading "Can’t Stop Won’t Stop" by Jeff Chang and "Sound Unbound" by DJ Spooky for a more well-researched view of the effects that new music technology is having on the culture and art of music. Comment by Franz Kaftone from USA Scott’s absolutely correct: if studios shut down then the expertise needed to produce music in that way will be lost. How will relative amateurs know what they are trying to replicate? It’s too glib to say "Technology doesn’t kill music, people kill music." Economically democratic technology will only guarantee more bad records to sort through to get at the gems. That, and artists who are not able to perform music in a live setting. I’d add Joe Boyd’s book "White Bicycles" to the list of useful references. A metaphor: If you’ve only known clothes dried in a metal box you can’t appreciate lovely fragrent fresh clothes dried outside on a line. Scott’s wrong: Laziness is killing music. Imagination and good ears are the magic ingredients. Why should we use a mangle when we have a tumble dryer? Now, I’ve got some poetic lyrics and some other ideas, who wants to make an album with me? Don’t know why they bother making music at all… they’ll never do it better than The Boss. End of the world, I tell ‘ya! Comment by Death By Karaoke from Chicago I agree with the commenters all round. THis article is not only misguided but also inconsistent in its message. The title suggests a completely different premise from the contents and the premise shift within the piece too… I lament the loss of recording studios and even more the loss of great recording spaces….it seems like a tide that cannot be stemmed so…..enough complaining. There certainly is plenty of excitment and interest in music and even in parts of the recording business if you pay attention….Comment by Jonathan Wyner from Boston, MA A more mis-informed collection of half-understood facts and ill-formed opinions I have rarely read. More universal access to the means of production does nothing to improve or deteriorate the quality of music produced. It just changes the sound of music produced. There have always been big expensive studios (there still are plenty of them) and there have always been cheap and nasty studios (there is now one in anybody’s bedroom who cares to have one); there have always been good musicians and there have always been hacks. Complaining about the sound of music now and blaming the recording methods used to achieve it is as old as people saying that the player-piano will eliminate real piano players. Waste of space; thank goodness it wasn’t printed on paper so at least we saved a tree. Comment by Steptoe from New York "As these reverb programs grow commonplace, the need for a studio’s acoustically optimized rooms has waned." Cheap recording is to music what cheap food is to an Ethiopian child. I have been starving for years for some decent music and no major label has satiated my hunger since the early ‘90s. The phat cats in the music industry have been rationing out "quality music" through their locked down avenues of distribution for so long I have never known anything else. These days I look to musicians that do it themselves. Mike Patton does not need a producer and neither does Trent Reznor. The utter bilged that has been passed off as music lately is enough to make me want to take it out of the hands of the majors. So please, spare me your sob story. And if you want to hear what Protools is really doing to music why don’t you turn off the radio and MTV and get on the internet. Maybe then you might be able to pull your head out off your ass long enough to hear some

music that still breaths with the passion of an artist making music for the love of the music. Comment by Slamgauge from USA.... Kids Teens Games Download Free Rock Band Songs and Videos .... I think there’s a point to be made here that any discerning music listener can validate: they ain’t making recordings with the quality of ‘spacial audio whatever’ like ‘Q’ (pre car crash) did or Axelrod or even the early Joe Walsh solo albums anymore. Nobody is. If you go back and listen to those original recordings, on vinyl, it’s a completely different listening experience. There is such minute and focused attention paid to the recording of the instrument, the space and mix, other things I’m sure I have no idea of. You just don’t hear that anymore. Never heard anyone duplicate it in the digital realm. Engineers, stop fooling yourselves. Many music fans, consumers, and musicians know the difference. Personally, I just think we’re hitting the trough before the next wave. People are going to realize the late 60’s / early 70’s were the high water mark of recording. And they’re gonna to take steps to reproduce and re-learn all that genius stuff. Maybe not on the broader market place, but there will always be a niche. Digital recording won’t disappear, but there will at least be a better balance of technology vs. human skill. In the meantime, pop in the Godzilla DVD, or that RHCP Californication cd, and remind yourself how much you love digital ;-) Comment by David Garland I agree with most of the article…When I first started recording..um.... driving and listening to "pouring rain" headspun....I began listening to the artist taking a breath, or perhaps the inadvertant popping of the lips while singing a specific lyric…or, the "human" playing a specific chord just a tad louder at a specific part of a song…now we can just crush and compresss…I miss those recordings..of course, I still agree with the message of Leave it to Beaver…it could be me…lol…However, my most recent recording required me to open up my Cakewalk, and delete the recording of someone playing with change in their pockets JUST prior to the beginning of the song..yes, I have MUTE..however, it was just so much easier….pros and cons, I say…pros and cons…What is the happy middle-ground? Comment by Johnny R. from Harrisburg PA — August 20, 2010 computers don’t "give" anybody anything. they merely present you with tools that allow one a certain methodology and workflow. This implies that you can’t have time signature changes because the grid in pro tools will have a pop-up saying "WRONG!" as joel hamilton has wisely said on tape-op numerous times, discipline is free. the worst kind of rhetoric is from people who don’t know what they’re talking about. Comment by RWC from NYC Far too negative; sure, some good things may suffer, but change is inevitable, no use whining about it. Plenty of good things in return. Although, watching a video about ‘pitch shift in a mix’ on Youtube the other day, I wonder were it will end. The answer is, it won’t. Comment by Matt from SF If you like to record like back in the old days, this is still possible with DAWs like Pro Tools.

Just hit record and if it itches you to edit the heck out of your tracks just DON’T. This kind of narrow-minded technology criticism reminds me of this quote of a good friend: "I’m pretty sure the "genuine" Neanderthal still took pride in strangling mammoths by hand when his neighbor next cave (a slave to technology) already used a stone." Please gain an understanding of the modern recording process before you presume to write an article about it. i mean, this article reminds me of some essay i’d throw together in the morning before high school, after forgetting that it was due that day. it’s uninformed, and misconcieved. many of the previous commenters have said it all. this is just my vote. Comment by Jose from Texas You’ve never actually recorded anything, on any format have you? Because if you had, you’d know how misguided and formulaic this essay sounds. I’d like to add my name to the list of people who thought this looks like a high school project, pulled from a random sampling of audio magazine headlines from 1997. Comment by Adam from ontario, canada pretty ill informed article. Maybe you should talk to professionals instead of just making up rubbish. Comment by rich This essay is whiny bullshit and anyone who agrees with it is either very stupid and shortsighted or very old and sad (probably both). Every generation you get these types yelling and bitching about how everything new is turning music and art and society into a shitty, mediocre washout. Oddly, the high water mark of civilization always seems to have occurred in the author’s twenties. Its OK though, nobody ever gives a shit anyhow Comment by Reality

Agree, protools sucks and all the digital stuff really sounds horrible compared to a real studio. Comment by Paul from Netherlands Pro Tools is awesome and if something recorded with it sounds rigid and processed, that is merely the engineer’s/producer’s fault. Not the technology’s fault. Im not rich. But im a good musician with alot of ideas about recording and production, and without affordable, quality recording equipment/devices like pro tools, i wouldnt be able to share my music with the world. SO i disagree completely with these statements. Comment by Robby from Northern California I’m a professional musician.I have read things that Pro recording artists have said about studios. To name a few:The Beatles formed Apple Records.Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys became intensely involved with recording techniques. Les Paul did all of his own recording. The Ozman records in his own basement.Garth Brooks recorded a lot of his songs by himself and arranged his own sales deals. Now that I’m close to retirement age I have more time to do things and I too am delving into home recording.Things change. Times change. Peoples desires change. What worked in 1950 won’t work today. What works today won’t work tomorrow.Because of the computer many things have changed. The recording industry is just one. With the advent of computer generated people and effects, how long will it be before the days of the Actor and Actress are gone. Many things will continue to change. What the recording companies need to do is to look at where they have come from and then look at the trends of today and the future and see if they can find a way to fit in.A way to stay current.abreast of technology and if possible a leader. If they keep looking at how it use to be and then just crying. They are going to be extinct.Just like the dinosuars. Remember my personal information Have things really changed since the 1950's? Comments made in the year 1955! That's only 55 years ago! 'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $10.00. 'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $1,000.00 will only buy a used one. 'If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. 20 cents a pack is ridiculous. 'Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter. 'If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store. 'When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage. 'I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas .
